Top 5 Social Networking Sites

There are so many social networking sites today, which ones are the best, and how do we know? It could be because of the many users.

Social Networking sites...We've all been part of one at soem time or another, and we've all felt that rush of being connected with others, whether it is your friend who lives next door, or a person who has the same interests as you that lives on the other side of the world. Let's face it, we as humans, need to be able to communicate and connect with others. Without human commmunication, we'd go insane. So of the hundreds of social networking sites there are today, here are five of the top, most visited ones.

Facebook: On facebook, users can 'friend' people, view others' profiles, photos, notes, etc. They can post photos or videos, and update status' from the computer or via cell phone. There are groups that you can become fans of such as "When I was your age, Pluto was a planet" and many more. Facebook was initially meant for college students only, but that rule was later changed to any and all people.

Myspace: Similar to Facebook in the fact that it is a way to connect with friends and families, Myspace is especially popular in teens. You can change layouts, and update your moods, and comment on other's profiles. You can also add music to your page so that viewers can have an understanding of what types of music you're into.

Twitter: Twitter is a much faster, up-to-date type of site for those of you who are constantly on the go, or wanting people to know where you are, what you're doing, and so much more. Twitter is most famous for all the celebrties who want to share their lives with their fans; posting updates of where they're going to perform, what they're doing tonight, and how much they want to thank them for supporting their work. Of course, it is also a way for friends to let each other know where they're going for the night, or who they're planning to hang out with.

LinkedIn: On a professional aspect, we find that LinkedIn is the most popular social networking site that people use. Users can make 'connections' with others or sites, and then they can recommend people to hire, post up job applications, and more. It is a great way to find business or job oppurtuntites.

Classmates: This is a website to get in touch with friends and acquaintences from long ago. From kindergarden and onward all the way up to college and military school, this is a way to reconnect with people you knew from a long time ago. It's a fun way to see how much people have changed, or remained the same over time. It could be a nice experience to maybe even meet up with old classmates after finding each other online.

So, I hope you enjoyed reading about some popular social networking sites, and know that wherever you are, if you have an internet connection, you are never alone if you join a social networking site.
